Ron Quast: GHS Counselor 1970-1985

Passing of Ron Quast, GHS Counselor 1970-1985 on January 6, 2020

Ron is remembered by the Foothiller retired staff as having come to Grossmont High School after working first in the Cajon Valley District and then at El Cajon Valley HS and Monte Vista HS.  Ron was approachable, sensitive, and empathetic with students.  Ron also was receptive to new ideas on ways to make school relevant, including locating programs for students and ways to improve the Career Center.   Upon leaving Grossmont, he worked on developing the GUHS District wide ROP program until his retirement in the late 1990’s, earning the nickname “Mr. ROP".
